(my capitalization inconsistency is deliberate, im trying to get you used to the fact that sometimes its easier to not press the shift key more than you really need to – typewriters are painful to game on. and this is not a business scenario or other where such things are suitable requirements of etiquette and trust establishment)

I cannot tell you what is true, nor am i qualified to. i can tell you experientially what I see and have seen and how i see the world, and believe to be true. a reason. one reason of very many.

i am interested in the seeding for and selection of fortuitous futures for mankind, and in where this has occurred successfully in the past (science, religion, stories, faiths, belief systems, humanity – source agnostic) – impacts of actions or events that or might reduced suffering. I want to find where that is occurring in the real and online worlds and most importantly how we can sow more seeds.

not enough attention is being paid to how we move as a society onto the internet. there’s lots of interested parties – but not a lot of coagulation from old (or new!) guardians we might expect to see.

I am interested in an identification of the forces at work in the online worlds, their feedback into the real world (RMT) etc. – vehicles to joy / understanding / all sorts of candy, training uses, business uses, there’s just so much. medicinal uses of games. formalized research – why so secret? defend your reason.

I am interested in the provision of a space for a group to be able to express its reason in complete anonimity (tickles talks to pickles rather than julian assange who lives exactly right here talks to huffpuff the magistrate). and where they could assert their reason, have it challenged by others, and attract followers. we have all the bits except the complete anonimity. people cannot think along their reason if they are burdened thinking that someone will come to destroy them. Terrorists! some are foul, some are desperate. all have a voice.

yes probably they would spread their reason using this but we have been held in fear for far too long by small harms on our historical scale.

I am interested in methods of control over people – how they are weilded and most importantly why.

I am interested very much in gathering a much data as possible and making it available to everyone.

I want to assemble the wasteland / junkyard / samsara survival guide library, and catalogue it. devils, dogs and angels, gotta catch em all.

and now to circles…

Circles doesn’t work imo at gut check because it tries to make static the ephemerality of form a group, a continuum etc. have. To me they only have a shape of a circle when you take a picture of them or consider them over long time like a circuit, seem more like streams. merging circles and waves?

personally i like twitter right now – there is so much information to process now that im happy to trust some people to provide micro digests of so i can decide ‘yes, read that link’ / ‘not atm’. I want to dip my hand in a stream, maybe swim for a bit, then put my other hand in another one. Or maybe im trying to merge very different streams. I’m trying to find out how water flows through me and what I can do to direct that flow so that the outcome I desire occurs. If I need privacy, I’m certainly not going to cluster myself into a single ID to be smacked.

What if I don’t want to bundle up all the things a man does and call it a man, or cast that to a ‘group’ of man. A type of man, a sub type – so many adjectives to deal with another human in the context of a single mind. It makes it more easy to categorize I guess, but it feels like binding (and my primary data loops got busted some years ago).

I got turned right off at the ‘bragging rights’ section. Ill not go into a world with badges of authority on my chest unless the need arises. but thats just me.

The dogma, the training becomes our likely truth. The process of examination leads to conclusions that are more likely to follow paths through the mind that have been used before- at least this is how it personally feels.

We build structures of knowledge, object chains to the infinitesimal. Then we group them into things that don’t exist so that we can use them.

If I tell you ‘it is raining’ – what is exactly? The droplets of water, the movement of it, the detection of the movement by the systems of the mind, the stuff getting wet…for each of those elements your mind can easily construct object chains to the infinitesimal including ‘hows that feel’ based on how you organize information within it. Your chains have different elements than do another persons.

How you organize the information within you mind is likely due in part to what you spend a lot of your time doing. If you are thinking about particular algorithms in business, a way of drawing that becomes a ‘style’, or you think a lot about how you feel things then the way in which you perceive new information or foreign information may clash with these filters, scurrying spider webs. The process by which something is learned can make the learning of another thing more difficult to allow. It is a path of lower resistance for thoughts to flow in expected ways, thus we feel inclined to deny non matching input. It doesn’t sound right to the very fabric of our being, or sounds like a perversion of OUR truth. We suffer when we change our minds because of an attachment to me – we keep trying to solo the world.

You may see another problem here. Typically people are not willing to hold all relevant structures in the mind simultaneously.

I’m hoping social media really lets the general public come out of their skin – to help us see other perspectives.

What the scientist ‘see’s in the drop of rain follows a flow so different than that of spiritualist that rarely do they intersect while so discordant. However, if both are so insistent in their genuine insight, are there aspects from one, the other or both we’re not letting ourselves see? Are we erecting structural blockade to our insight, protecting precious jewels scrumbled up in our head? By denying spiritual insight have we gained so much FAITH in science, by rejecting science on faith have we abandoned the meticulous methods of faith and mind training – a SCIENCE of its own.

CIV 6 alpha:

In this online world we are presented with many wonderful opportunities for the creation of fortuitous futures.

Croudsourcing by governments / people with the money to do it and willingness to do it fairly:

  • Would it not be wonderful if they could compete online for funding based on the reason for the thing, or the benefit it will bring?
  • Imagine croudsourcing “what we should build as the next world wonder?”, and leaving that data open.
  • It doesn’t have to be a world wonder in the form of an object you can visit. One laptop per child is a world wonder. The elimination of the scourge of malaria is a world wonder.
  • Putting people back to work with civic projects that both stretch our collaborative and economic goals while providing us insight into a whole new world of invention and education IS A WORLD WONDER.
  • We need attention on the home front. We cannot be the America we want to be if we are burdened so heavily that we cannot perform those functions. We cannot continue to burn our people. I see politicians in Washington and their faces sometimes visibly twist in to caricatures of their intent, news media folk need to keep making them do this and extol the ones who’re fair and give 2 bits about their constituents. they seem to really be ratcheting it up and it couldnt be greater. Its like the world is screaming to be freed.

– Unlimited corporate funding of elections is wildly insane, and an odd way to introduce chaos. You are asking for some powerful entities to express reason, but you are not asking the people in a way that allows their reason to compete in any way fairly. is this so people can fight corporations and governments can ref? should read the stuff…

– you could ask the American people – in this time where we really need a boost please, what should we do, right now? You have 6 months, x billion dollars will be allocated towards implementation of the winning idea and x to the inventors or whatever to inspire. corporations can receive tax breaks for donating useful R&D. This process will be repeated every 6 months. You’d get infantile ideas from people acting that way – but you’d also get a view of the objectification of their desires for their countries growth. But you would also produce dreams, visions and countless ideas that while might not be chosen would likely spur all kinds of industry. You’d have fights on where to put ‘it’ – but might decide that ‘it’ might be a joint effort to unite the tribes of america in a shared function. you’d be doing the will of the people while respecting the individual’s power to be superlative. im looking for bad things that would come of this but im only seeing ‘china gets our r&d’. another day.

– I know there’s millions of experts in numerous fields who feel disillusioned and might be inspired, I know there’s a generation(s) of people who feel unable to contribute and I know there is a great need for improvement in education and in the interconnectivity of our various regions. i know theres a shit ton of people needing jobs.

– The process of how it was built, the building of it and its online record then might become a monument to human cooperation – and art for when times change.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the predator tracking application – http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/showthread.php?t=4822

this app is apparently running object identification in live video more efficiently than even the 150 dollar multi-camera tech MS Kinect in several ways.

I would like to use this tech, which is open source for non-profit use, to develop a system for mobile phones (specifically WP7) that would allow a user to use their cell phone camera to draw around an object in their camera screen that would then be tracked.

the point of the application would be to create a kit with which a user could identify objects in, say, a room.  After processing several objects in the room in this example the user would be able to have an augmented reality view through their camera view of the objects being tracked by the predator algorithms.

the objects could display data about themselves, such as brand name, attempted bar code identification on products etc.  but at its simplest it would allow many users to create identification libraries which could then be uploaded to a cloud hosted database (pref. SQL azure as I need an excuse to work with it), and to attach notes to the identified object.

Objects can be people.  It would be very cool to see a phone app you can give to your building security team or to a on-plane law enforcement officer etc.  such an app could be used to identify known baddies using the predator algorithm and the mobile device camera.

initially the libraries would only be built locally and stored online but the intent would be to have these become searchable by other users.

e.g. looking through camera at a big cylinder of hydrogen gas.  user draws box around the canister.  image search online with google similar images or somesuch can cross reference.  if the object can be identified as something that a library has been created for (e.g. the sign on the canister showing the hazardous warning label) the user could be offered the opportunity to download a library of info about hazardous chems.

I like this because the tracking algorithm is free and apparently good, and because by allowing users to contribute to what is a massive info gathering exercise you can build microscopic areas of knowledge and share them in a way that augments other people’s views.

Call the app – eye spy or some shit.  no that’s terrible…  the eyes of Juiz!  (juiz is portuguese for ‘judge’ – watch this video good example of what I’m talking about, but for user identified data rather than GPS or google places stuff.  more microscopic.  (eden of the east highly recommended).

AARRGGBB byte values April 29, 2011

#FFFFDEAD – all dead, as white as a trampled, bleached skull. there’s hidden things everywhere.

Due to the fact that its still very much under the patenting process I cannot talk about what I’m doing at work 😦  Its a mobile project.

HINT- Silverlight by default only shows up byte codes for a handful of colors, which is troublesome.  you’ll end up randomly assigning them if your populating elements from code and will quickly run out of the default selection.  Then for me its either keep using the color picker on another object to pick a new color, or make one up.

I’m sure there must be people who’ve added the additional enumerations for common web colors shown below.  Imma cook up one at some point soon and chuck it up here.

Color moo = new Color.FromARGB(0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??)

C# – Color moo = new Color.FromARGB(0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??)

Google Apps Reporting API Client for .NET rewrite January 21, 2011

Google apps reporting API Client for .NET v1.0.1 as published by google is not in a usable state. It is a single non-compiled .cs file which outputs to a console application. You could not use this in any kind of real application and it does absolutely no more than showing an example of how to obtain data.

I am attempting to get it into an enterprise usable state and make that work available to the larger community.

My goal is to make it very simple to pull reporting data from ga and provide a multithreaded job runner system for execution of report queries with flexible output capabilities.

this will take me some time as I’m kept rather busy at work.

It is up (http://code.google.com/p/reporting-client-net-redo/).  Well an early alpha of it is.  Lots to be done… check out the project issues page.  I’ve only had a week and a half (not full time) on this but it’s already far better than the one Google posts on their API site.
